The Poetic Journey

The focus of Project 1 is "Experiencing Space". In groups of 7-8 students, propose a spatial journey,
with key consideration of spatial poetics in architecture relating to the given subject matter. With an
analysis of minimum two (2) non-physical precedent studies per student to analyze on spatial poetics
in architecture, students are required to identify and explain different ‘modifying elements’ in
architecture and the different types of poetic spaces (to create a catalogue of spaces), and how they
inform spatial use and experience. Subsequently, students to create a spatial expressions journey

EVERYTHING

This pdf showcase everything we went through to come up with the final product, our first project for semester 3.

REFLECTION

This was an especially hard assignment for us because we were given a tough topic - poetic journey of a malay kapung. Seeing that we have no malay group mates and most of us are chinese, we are at lost of where to start. However, with guidance of  Ar Shahira and Ms Dee, we pushed through. Luckily, it was a group assignment so we had each other to rely on. Other than that, I am also very grateful for a fun yet effective group dynamic that was willing to work together to make this come through. We faced quite a few challenges as this was the first time we were grouped together, but with each others understanding and help, this ended up as one of the most fun assignment, if not most rushed one. It was hard trying to follow the tight schedule for this assignment. But we managed to pull through with an end result that we are proud of. This really shows that I have fulfilled thinking and problem solving skillslifelong learning and intrapersonal skills.
