Modules:
- Architectural design 04
-IT Application for Sustainable Design
- Advanced Architectural Construction
- Green Strategies for Building Design
STUDY PLATFORMS
MyTimes - Used to get course documents, lecture slides, and most importantly to submit pdf documentations and tutorial homeworks. Still prefer offline submission for manual drawings as its hard to scan large scale drawings. Also has a lot of bugs on some submissions, and is harder to use compared to the last version - Taylor Times.
Taylor mobile app - Only use this for attendance marking and showing digital student ID. Not much complaints except that 1 of my attendance was not taken.
Whatsapp - Used this for quick communication in group works. Very efficient and can get information instantly, compared to Facebook which I rarely used.
Architectural Design 04
In Semester 4, themed “engaging environment and community”, the studio explores design by harnessing environmental qualities and conditions for human and environment sustainability through a project with a specific community of users within a given context. The projects involve studies of precedents on design projects that are responsive to the environmental conditions and sustainable issues.
Green Strategies Building Design
This module is an exploration of passive sustainable strategies in architectural design. It looks at the different elements that make up architecture and how the integration of passive design strategies with these elements contribute to the quality of spatial experience within a building. Student will undertake case studies to analyse the applications of these strategies and their impact on the quality and experience of space.
Advanced Architecture Construction
This module introduces the principles and practices of construction technology for long-span and tall buildings. It focuses on the construction systems of basement, building façade and envelope systems as well as steel construction. It also covers the new and recent construction technologies and systems including modular construction (MC) and Industrialised Building System (IBS).
